Integrated Village Development Service (IVDS) as a coordinating partner organization of NOREC works with the collaboration with other partners in India Parmarth Samaj Sevi Sanstha (PSSS) for promoting organic farming, improved agricultural practices in different areas of Makawanpur, Nepal and Jhasi, India. The participants employed in the organization are exchanged and enrolled in field level activities where they can share and exchange the gained knowledge related to improved agricultural methodologies and replicate the same methodologies in their home countries. The participants are mobilized in the field to assist the youth farmers as well as women group with technical support and training programs.

Parmarth Samaj Sevi Sansthan is a non-governmental and non-profit organization, working for the weak and deprived sections of the society. It has been working to bring qualitative improvement & changes in the lives of the vulnerable & deprived sections of the society. It engages diverse community groups and stakeholders such as women & adolescents groups, youth, social activists, academicians, media functionaries, lawyers, researchers, change makers, students, political forces, and panchayat members in the socio-developmental processes. PARMARTH strongly advocates for participatory processes both within the organization and the community. The organization displays and demands a transparent and accountable mechanism in the interest of the poorest & marginalized community groups. The organization also provides a healthy, equal rights, democratic and gender-sensitive work environment.

History

PARMARTH was set up by five enterprising youth to promote long-term sustainable livelihoods among the poorest and vulnerable sections of society in the mid-90s. The vision was to empower local masses through a capacity-building approach in such a way that they could assert their rights and entitlements while understanding the importance of discharging their duties and responsibilities. Journeying through almost two decades, PARMARTH believes it largest contribution has been in the rebuilding of lives of poorest &marginalized community groups.

 Legal Status

PARMARTH is a voluntary organization registered under the Society Registration Act of 1860. It also has an FCRA certification and has been registered under sections 12 (A) and 80 (G).

As a core organization, PARMARTH has been facilitating the community process towards creating a youth and community-based platform to lead their lives rightfully, independently and with dignity. The organization has been strengthening community leadership and empowering them to take decisions that affect their lives.

Target Groups

PARMARTH has been preliminary working in the favor of poor, marginalized, vulnerable and deprived sections of society in the remote, ravine and drought affected areas of Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh & Madhya Pradesh. The region has been facing multiple vulnerability in which Feudal System, Caste discrimination, Gender Discrimination, untouchability, Illiteracy, poverty, Migration, natural calamities, drought are the major factors in the region. The organization works with poorest and most marginalized women, men, girls, boys and socially excluded people.

Outreach & Coverage

The organization is working in Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Presently, the organization has direct reach in 557 villages of 22 blocks in 8 districts of Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh & Madhya Pradesh. PARMARTH works in over 5 districts (Jalaun, Hamirpur, Lalitpur, Jhansi and Etah) of Uttar Pradesh and 3 districts (Teekamgargh, Chhatarpur and Chhindwara) of Madhya Pradesh
